The circlet is as the Other Ranks helmet Plate centre, but has been gilded. This is a superb example of an extremely scarce plate Four battle honours. Dominica,Martinique,Guadaloupe and Ashantee. The Ashanti or Ashantee wars were fought between 1873 and 1874 and I believe this plate was worn prior to 1881. A beautiful badge in great condition the photos don't do it justice.  read more
