Georgian or Early Victorian The 9th Norfolk Regiment Officers Shoulder Belt Plate

The design on this plate dates from 1830 when the Lion was added to the design. See Parkyn 124 for similar. It is gilded brass 2 piece construction (Gilt worn) but displays very well Britannia holding a long spear in her left hand and a Laurel spray in her right hand. Britannia seated between a Lion and a shield with an early union Jack design Underneath a scroll with IX Regt. Good sound fittings to rear with traces of gilt. Photos don't do it justice!
