Tynemouth Artillery Volunteers QVC O/Rs Blue Cloth Helmet Plate

The Tynemouth Artillery Volunteers claim to be the first ranked artillery volunteer corps being raised on the 7th May 1859. They were raised as the 1st Northumberland Artillery Volunteers in Tynemouth. Their first practice was using 70 year old smoothbore cannons at Tynemouth Castle. A nice piece of artillery history.
