Victorian 1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers Officers Helmet Plate

A truly superb item. This unit had its origins in the 12 corps of Northumberland Rifle Volunteers. It became the 1st VB Northumberland Fusiliers in February 1883. The Headquarters were at Alnwick and moved to Hexham in 1891. It became the 4th Territorial Battn Northumberland Fusiliers in 1908.
