Seaforth Highlanders 3rd Morayshire Battalion Plaid Brooch

This unit was formed from the Elgin Rifle Volunteers in 1887. There were companies based in Forres, Elgin and Rothies with Headquarters in Cowper Park Elgin. The design is a stags head on a wreath of thistle stalks. This example appears to be a pipers or drummers. It is regimentally marked to the rear No 7 and 3 VBSH
