Grenadier Guards Officers King George 3rd Belgic Shako Plate

This is an immaculate helmet plate presumably made to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. It is absolutely first rate Jeweller quality. The plate has 4 parts. The backplate is superbly gilded and on this is the garter star in silver. On this the regimental insignia for George 3rd in gilt on a cobalt blue enamelled background.Two large fixing lugs to rear. A superb item. I have never seen an original other than in the Guards museum.
