77th East Middlesex Regiment Early Victorial Shoulder Belt Plate

This is Parkyn 421 and was worn between 1830 and 1855. The regiment was founded in 1758 and were known as Montgomery's Highlanders. They were disbanded in 1763. They were raised again 1777 and named The Athol Highlanders. This corps was disbanded in 1783. They became the 77th Regt of Foot in 1787 and from 1807 they were known as The East Middlesex Regiment. Finally they were merged as the Second Battalion the Duke of Cambridge's Own Middlesex regiment in 1881. The plate is ion absolutely first class condition.
