3rd Royal Surrey Regiment of Militia Officers Shoulder Belt Plate
I suppose the word sumptuous comes to mind. This is a lovely plate to this scarce unit, Who I believe were based in Guildford. It dates to c 1850 and the unit became the 4th Battalion of the East Surrey Regt in 1881. It has a lovely gilt plate overlaid with a silver star which in turn is overlaid with wreath of oak leaves on gilt and over this a crowned circlet bearing the words 3rd Royal Surrey Regt. This on a lovely and fully intact blue enamel plate. Superb
