A lovely early example. It is a variant of Parkyn 266 and was worn between 1840 and 1855. They became the 2nd Battn The Surrey regiment in 1881 a lovely Gilt Plate with silver star overlay on this a crowned circlet and beneath this the title 'Surrey with the numerals 70 in silver on a black background
