The Kings Own Scottish Borderers 5th Territorial Battalion

This was a much travelled unit. Coming from the Galloway Rifle Volunteers in 1881 they became a Volunteer Battn of the Royal Scots Fusiliers. They were transferred to the KOSB in 1899 and in 1908 the Galloway Rifle Volunteers and the 3rd VB KOSB merged as the 5th KOSB. This is the White metal badge worn between 1908 and 1914
